View Full Version : p3 450, must get to 600mhz
Thanks for the help so far everyone! p3 450 ; I have my v core at 2.0 at 558mhz(124) but when I tried 600mhz(133) I went to 2.05 and 2.10. MY cpu works fine at 1.9v at 558 also. I have a voodoo 5 64mb and a abit be 6 board. I tried agp 1x mode as suggested and I got a "Invalid system disk" strange, and kind of scary. when I went back to 558(124fsb 1/4) everything was fine again. My cooling is a stock fan and heat sink, with extra case fans that keep the case temp at 37C and the cpu is 51C at full load (ut). The be 6 's maneuverable cpu thermometer allowed me to put the thermometer right in the heat sink. I have a udma 66 20gb HD, should I set the drive to 33 instead of 66? any other help? I need to get to 600 mhz at 133(1/4), or I will ..........

Your temps look a little bit on the high side... I don't have any expirience w/ Intel CPUs, but its possible u can't get higher because of the high CPU temps. cause when u O/C + up voltage, temps raise dramaticly... Try to cooool the CPU down, and maybe u will be able to get some more MHz out of it.
Good luck.
I wouldn't guarantee you that you'd get to 600 unfortunatly your chip is a Katmai core which is the first P3 core and a bad overclocking core.. At least you got the 100mhz juice overclocking. But if you were to reach 600 make sure that your not losing the L2 cache while overclockin..
Because mine if I set the Cache LAT to 9-15 the L2 will be disabled it'll run at 620 without no L2 which isn't worth it.. But give it a shot.
