DisplayPort will essentially close the gap between PC monitors and other displays, such as laptops, projectors, televisions, and other consumer electronic devices, by creating a common digital display interface as it replaces DVI and eventually VGA outputs.

YES we will finally be able to effectively use laptop screens for whatever we want now. Darn proprietary connections hopefully this catches on for more then just laptops.
