Hello friends,

I've been away from the forum for some time, so I'm a bit outdated...

I'm still having problems overclocking my MX on Win98SE with the Detonators XP. I'm using the 21.88's, everything is stable but I can't overclock. Strange numbers, clock resets itself... you know the trend. I know that many people were having the same problem some time ago, but I don't know if someone has developed a solution.

Do the newer drivers solve this ? Or is there another workaround ?
I think I've missed this subject while away from the forums, so please help.

Thanks in advance

hello dappel. how have you been doing?

there is no other solution yet other than the powerstrip. you know, thats a driver issue and all the XPs do have the problem up to now: always when running W98 and GeForces 2 MX. try doing it with the powerstrip -> this was one more thing for me to move to W2k: why dont u update W98SE? W2k is a lot lot better even for games, and most the problems will just disappear.
anyway powerstrip now is the only driver-independant program good enough to try out, hope till the final rivatuner be released in january i think.

Hi oTTO, I'm fine, thx for asking.

I've allready tried powerstrip. I use this program for years, on many cards, but this one is a mystery. PStrip enables me to overclock it, but my card becomes slower than unoverclocked.

175/143 : ~1000 3DMarks (default clock)
275/175 : ~ 400 3DMarks (overclocked)

Now the news : I've managed to fix overclocking with the 23.10's. System was running fine, fast, then I decided to flash my MX's BIOS and had to reinstall the dets. Now I can't overclock anymore (again !!).

I'm trying to figure out what I had done right/wrong. I'll keep you guys informed.
