for my new rig I am planning on running at least three IBM 18.2GB Ultra2 LVD SCSI drives on my new rig. They run at 7200 RPM. I was wondering what methods of cooling I should use to keep them from dying prematurely. I have free 5.25" bays free. Should I buy bay coolers such as these (http://www.coolerguys.com/cpucool/hdcooler.shtml)? Should I buy a cooler that mounts on the underside of the HDD's and blows air upward? SHould I put them in the HDD cage with a big fan in front? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

AFAIK, the "Ultimate" HDD Cooler is useless. Of the models on display on the linked page, I'd go with the Bay Cooler II. This presupposes that you have two 5.25" bays free for them!

Put a fan blowing on them as they do with servers. Cheap and effective.
