Serving w/ Linksys Router

I want to turn my p3 machine into a ftp/counter-strike server, but i cant seem to get it working from behind my linksys router! :o Im pretty sure lots of you guys have linksys routers, so if you know how to get a server running sucessfully behind it, plz share the knowledge.
I tried playing around with IP Forwarding, but that wont do it, and i think you need DHCP off, but then i dont know how to work Static Routing.... arrgGG! its complicated stuff.

*UPDATE* I can connect to it as a CS sever using my external IP address, however i know that that doesnt necissarily mean that others can, plus my ping was 10-20, sounds kinda like LAN game to me... (this happened after i turned DHCP off)

I just got done doing that with my router this morning for our CS Clan. It took me all night but now it actually works. Now Im messing everything up trying to install the ADMIN MOd. I will get back to you later about this cuz I gotta meet a friend of mine whos in town from D.C. Btw you may have done it correctly. My Lan IP is in the hlds line and the router converts it to the WAN IP. When I connected to CS thru the online section I would get kicked out but if I connected thru the LAN connection it worked just fine. Maybe you could post your WAN IP and have other people try and hook up.

my modem was giving us fits today so i took her off line. It was spiking pretty bad at times and when I left for a few hours it had locked up and dropped everyone.

Thx, i think ill try that. Ok, if anyone of you kind people have CS and a bit of time, my IP address is: *server down* And i currently have a CS server running. If you can get in plz let me know. Its called "OC.com is cool" :D
btw- when i connected i just saw it as the default name, "Counter Strike 1.1 Server" or something like that, not the name i called it.

Damn, guess your modem went fruity. Maybe ill be able do some clan serving if this works, :)

Aight! Someone just connected, (who wasnt on my LAN:cool: )now im going to need to know how to mod the server.... this is gonna take a while.
