Thermal Throttle?????

Using Riva tuner..... I have only hit 53deg. in all of my testing.... Highest 3dmark05 score........12283......@500/705.... I tried 500/710 and got a score decrease to 12270..... temp at this time 53deg. I have pushed the numbers a little farther and my score refuses to budge.....stays around 12000

Does this indicate that my thermal throttle is set at 53deg. :mad:

hmm...I can't see thermal throttling kicking in at only 53 degrees. Most cards don't reach a critical temp until 90-100 degrees.

I have gone as high as 550/790 and I finally get a little bit of artifacting....but I have had no score increases since....500/705....according to the 1....2....3 invidia guide this would represent thermal throttle..... but damb... at that low of a temp.....???????????

I dn't want to spend ou the money for aftermarket coolers if it's not going to help???

you hit the wall most likely. once you see artifacting, you have to back off 5mhz. and call it a day.

Yes, but read my original post..... I so No artifacting till then, but no increases in score after 500/705....

Am I not making in sense here?????????

Maybe its the CPU bottlenecking. I notice your only running a single core right, even though its overclocked.

Yes that is right....single core with a cpu score of 6135 in 3dmark05.... so you don't thnk it's thermal throttl?????????

So it's normal then not to see a performance increase between 500/705 and 525/760??????

Or is it that my cpu can't keep up with my gpu?????? And that there is still more go get from my EVEG's??????

A 3700+ with the same overclock..... running at 560/800....
