Dumb question that I'm gonna ask anyway..

Can an xp home cd be used to repair xp pro?


A buddy of mine screwed something up.. His bestbuy bought computer didn't come with a cd. I might be able to find a pro cd. It would be much better if I didn't have to though. I have a retail and an OEM copy..

all retail pc's come with CD's though most have that stupid recovery CD which is what you would want to use, if he doesn't have it then I don't know...I dont' think an XP Pro one can be used for XP Home OS but then again if his pc is already Fubar'd he really don't have much to lose.lol
