I am about to buy my new vid card and have narrowed it down to 2 finalists... the Hercules 3D Prophet II Ti or the Gainward GeForce2 Ti/500 XP... they both use the 4ns memory... the gainward is warranted for overclocking and has video in... both cards are the same $$$ after s&h at newegg.com... but which is REALLY worth the money... like customer support and just plain old perfomance?

Are you sure you mean the Hercules II Ti because this is the titanium version of the Geforce2 Ultra. If it's just typo then I'd have to say Hercules has generally made some high performing cards. But, if you also care about 2d quality then the Gainward is the way to go.

gainward has been making their golden sample boards for a long time, and their cards are extremely overclocker friendly, also the gainward has 4.5ns ram, go for it.....you sure you dont want to shell out an extra 50 bucks and get a Ti200?

Yes I mean the Hercules 3d Prophet II TI... it's based on the Gf2 Ti chip... I am sure of this... I've spent 3 hours on the Hercules web site looking at it and it's specs and comparing them with the Gainward GeForce2 Ti/500 XP... Which according to nvidia's website and hercules' this is based on the GF2 Ti chipset, not the Ultra... that's a whole nother ballgame :)
also the gainward has 4.5ns ram
Actually the ti/500 xp and the 3d prophet II Ti both use 4ns memory... the gainward 450 uses the 4.5ns... that's why these 2 are the finalists... faster mem... and they both look kinda cool :)

well in that case it just depends on whether you like blue or red :)
