What are they ? I'm pretty sure im getting an xbox 360 :) so i need to know some games, though I might get a PS3 so i need to know :) probably 3 geames for either one but I wanna know yo-ur guys top 10 picks :)

I've only played a 360 so I can't say anything for PS3. I don't really have a top ten because I just got my 360 a few weeks ago. Here's a list of the one's I've played. I thought all of them were games worth buying.

Yes, the PS3 does have 10 games though probably not 10 good enough ones to buy yet

hey, guvment, do youself a favor, buy gears of war and fightnight round 3. only games i play on my 360. ive been playin fightnight for almost a year and im still not sick of it.
gears of war looks like its a must was on my list as well of known games :) maybe dead rising as well :)

I'm trying to decide between Call of Duty 3, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas, Oblivion, and whatever else may be good.
I read reviews on RSV and it sounds hawt!
i'm willing to buy maybe 2 games right now... i'm so into xbox 360 it amazes me... i haven't been into console games since 2002 (i played my PS2 for about a year or two when it first came out, and hadn't really done much console gaming until i got the 360 2 weeks ago).
great thread and i'm gonna keep my eye on it... i'm willing to devote lots of cash into the 360, no joke... :D

I would stick with Oblivion on the PC, considering you have a respectable gaming rig. #1 the PC version looks better. #2 It's $40 for the PC version vs $60 for the 360 version. Save that cash to put to another 360 game, IMO.

so rainbow vegas or call of duty??? and is COD3 >> COD2... i want the best game for me... i don't know anything about COD.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas, it is good, but linear, very little freedom to wander at all, which sucks royally kind of.
plan to get gears of war when i can, does look awsome!

Yep. If you have a good enough TV. It looks good on Standard Def as well as HD. Make sure you have good contrast for the best experience.
I'll be using it on my dell 2007 :) hope it looks good :) once i pick one up ill take some pics for you guys :) maybe another month or so though

blue stars, but very likely i could be wrong. :) my memory isn't the greatest.
dude, i doubt we can make our own... i'm sure there is a nice, big interface in that adapter that took some time to create... but it would be nice if we could, lol.... that thing can even do ps2 controllers from what i've seen.

Ohh okay, i thought it was just some cheap adapter thats soldered together inside and what not. I didnt look at it to closely.

that's one of the video thingies they do after accomplishments... the game itself looks close to that, but not exactly.
my 32" hdtv does 720p, but downsizes 1080i (won't be actual 1080i), so i've always been using 720p.
last night i decided that i'll try to hook up the component cables to my 2405fpw Dell 24" wide... to test 720p against 1080i, and to my amazement i also saw 1080p as a choice in the 360 console display settings!!!
well, i tried 1080p and got a black screen... so... i tried 1080i and it worked. i played GoW at 1080i and at 720p, and honestly didn't see much of a diff... i don't know if my 2405fpw is downsizing the 1080i or not, but i didn't see much help jumping up to 1080i. i know my monitor can do 1920x1200, but now i'm confused... i wonder what res the game played at when i tried 720p and when i tried 1080i.. on the 2405fpw that is.
the game did look a lil smoother on my 2405 than on my 32" hdtv, though...
1280x720 = 720p
1920x1080 = 1080i/p :)
1280x720 = 720p
1920x1080 = 1080i/p :)
yes i know... but my 2405fpw is native 1920x1200... that's why i said that. :)
crap... i guess i could have tried to check the dell's display menu to see if it was able to determine the current res... i may try it again tonight.... just trying to see if 1080i looks better than 720p on the xbox... i just can't do it with my 32" hdtv cuz the 1080i on that is downsized for compatibility with its 720p panel.
No matter what you choose, Oblivion and Gears of war is must have for 360.

I bought oblivion for the PC instead. Mostly for benchmarking purposes... and because I can get all those pay downloads and a bunch of fan creations for free on PC.
Could be getting an X1900XTX tomorrow... So I need before and after comparison :beer:

im not really a cod fan they are ok... but they seem to be taking it to far and its boring. ive played vegas for pc and its awesome s een some videos for the 360 with that game on it, looks awesome as well :)

put it this way... my all-time favorite games are:
Half-Life Opposing Forces Deathmatch (and also CTF)
Counter-Strike: Condition-Zero
So any game that comes close to those is what I'm stuck to... the closer a game is to one of those, the happier I am, lol... so if COD is like BF and slower paced, then I'm not as much of a fan... I like the fast paced stuff that requires shorter time to make decisions...

Yeah, IMO, but you know the saying about opinions.
The question to ask yourself is if you prefer a free run and gun game or a tactical shooter. If its the former grab CoD3, if its the later RS6:Vegas is top notch.
