PartitionMagic will do that and more. I'm sure lots of other partition utilities will as well, I've only used PartitionMagic. I've found it to be very fast and extremely simple to use.

you cant delete a partition and still expect to keep the data stored in that partition as you are taking out the file structure. If the data is on a different partition than the one you intend on deleting then that is fine, it will be ok.

You could use partition magic to merge the partitions I believe, if you just want fewer larger partitions.

This is true. I did it when I decided to delete my Vista partition.

If you are trying to recover lost data, DONT FORMAT.
Install windows on another Harddrive, and set the "lost" drive to be a slave.
Run a program like NTS recover or some other data recovery software , look for one that will preserve filenames, it might not recover everything but if you can get a lot back then great :)

i something similar to this last time to my sata hd. Windows merged my 4 partitions into 1 big partition because of the 137gb issue with winXP SP1.
Long story short i tried alot of different data recovery utilities, but was barely able to recover anything. All the file names were intact, but the data was pretty much gone. :bang head
Thanks for the info guys,I made to many partitions,so I wanted to delete a couple,I am good to go,,thanks again...

you can install windows and get an external hard drive and take it from there. however im not sure if you can copy the data on an MS-DOS screen.
