I finally got around to installing XP. Without any TSR's loaded I've had freezing of the OS since I installed Forte Agent 1.8. When I
scroll down to view a usenet message or email in Agent, the program locks up tight and so does the OS. I have to do a reset to use the rig again. This is getting frustrating. So much for XP being crashproof.:mad: I didn't have this problem with RC2, there have been no hardware changes. I don't have this problem with Win2k Pro. I have tried the following as suggested by previous posts in alt.usenet.offline-reader.forte-agent;
Turned off indexing for the hard drives;
Changed the Advanced Attributes to no boxes checked;
Write/Read/View Permissions to every user;
Quotas turned off;
Used the bugzilla reg fix to use Agent with Netscape 6.2 installed.
Compatibility with Win2k used with compatablility wizard (I didn't
have this problem with Win2k, same hardware);
Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated, or it's back to Win2k Pro for me.
