hi OC people.
Sorry if you find any type-os. but english is not my primary language.

I plan to upgrade my system. In this moment i have the following Specifications:

Pentium D 945 3.4ghz
mobo: Intel D101GGc
eVGA 7900GT KO
2x512 Markvision DDR400
Ultra X-Finity 500w (TT toughpower 750w on the way)
2 Maxtors 80GB SATA on RAID-0 on PCI RAID Controller card
1 Western digital SATA2 250gb 16mb cache
And bunch other stuff like fans, neons, dvdrw, hardcano etc....

I have bought the Thermaltake toughpower 750w... and i plan to buy the eVGA 680i SLI mobo this weekend.

so my question is, what is the best memory DDR2-800 for this brand (evga) (i plan to buy 2GB (1x2 or 512x4)). this having in mind that in a near future i will upgrade my procesor (to a core 2 duo of course :) ) and the video card to a evga or bfg 8800GTX.

i ask this because the corsair brand seem to run better on Asus.. so.. I would like to know what is the best brand (memory) for the evga mobo.

The two options i have in mind are: Corsair XMS2 Xtreme and the OCZ Platinum or gold.

greetings all :bday:

I haven't heard of any memory problems with the eVGA 680i, so I would bet that both of those would work fine. If you are trying to decide between the two, it would really depend on what processor you picked out exactly and what your FSB goals are for overclocking.

Actually, I heard that memory tends to perform better on the 680i. I think it was the corsair dominators and OCZ flex that were hitting 1100 on a 975x and the same sticks hit around 1300 on a 680i. If you want I can try to find that review somewhere...
