eVGA 680i runing HOT?

it is true that the eVGA 680i SLI chipset (NB) run really hot?? i read some reviews on some other sites that said its run in some cases at 80c :eek: without a fan... and with the fan on run at 50c :eek: (still pretty hot to me)

can someone with this car can tell me what is your chipset northbridge temperature? ilde? full?

thanks, because i really want to buy this board adn thats got me scare :confused:
 
Yes, the eVGA 680i I build ran pretty hot too.

Model: E6600 Retail
Stepping and revision: did not check
CPU frequency: 3.6 Mhz 400x9
Core voltage: 1.60
Cooling used: Artic Freezer 7
Load temperature: 55C -measured by Sisoft Sandra
Motherboard: EVGA 122-CK-NF68-AR
Memory: Crucial Ballistix DDR2-800 4-4-4-12 @ 1:1 (running at 4-4-4-12 with 2.3V)
PSU: SILVERSTONE SST-ST56ZF
 
A lot of people have been pulling the heat sinks off and reapplying AS5. They claim it helps a lot. From everything I have read, it's running in spec.
