Hey guys. I recently reinstalled HL2 and CS:S after putting the new rig together. I can't remember what net settings I was using to keep loss and choke down to 0. With the defaults its terrible with choke going up to 40-60 and loss around at 1-5. I did have it before with no loss no choke, just can't remember what they were.
I am using ATT DSL 6,048/384

I think one of the cmdrate/updaterate commands can only go up to 100, but it's still wat u need. This works best when you get constant 100 fps, but if not, it still reduces the lag.

That's about the best rates for registration and FPS, same goes for 1.6.

yes but you guys are forgetting 1 thing...
Not all servers are gonna accept those rates withou getting some major choke.. those rates are only good for servers that give you outstanding ping.. Other than that... i suggest lowering your updaterate until your choke goes away...
net_Graph 5, if you see choke lower your cl_updaterate down 10 till it goes away :)
