View Full Version : AMR in Linux
Can you get the teensy weensy AMR slot Modems to work with linux. I really like mine, and I think that linux surfing would be great - I've tried 5 modems and only this AMR gets >33.6kbps (running at 46.7 right now)
Aren't they winmodems? In which case its an emphatic no, unless they are Lucent-based (as far as I know).
I might try over at www.linmodems.org They might have something there
I think its actually affecting my ob sound as well...
Well, AMR stands for "Audio/Modem Riser", so I think you can run onboard sound through it too.
For some reason, linux can't do either..
Probably because its hokey hardware, and so Linux doesn't have drivers for it.
Ah, I disabled the Soundblaster compat mode in the BIOS. It works now (The sound).
OK, this is wierd - the sound STILL dont work. I'll post in another thread about this.
