I heard that you can format a CD or DVD for UDF and use drag 'n' drop to move files. I like the sound of that, but how do you do this with a CD burner? I have windows 98se and linux.

Well, I'm not sure in the slightest (I had a burner for 3 days, and then had to get rid of it :( ), but I believe that Adapec Direct-CD does this. It formats CDs for you, and then lets you use them just like a floppy disk.

There is a packet writing standard on the way. It is going to be available as a patch to XP and then built in to any MS OS from then on. It will make Direct CD, InCD and abCD obsolete.

Until then I don't know of any packet writing available other than the three commercial versions I just listed.
