Some of my mounting hardware for my storm has disappeaered. So while waiting for swiftech to send me a new set, I've decicded to lap my IHS. My first attempt didn't go so well. The Cpu kept slipping out of place. I've lapped heatsinks and blocks before, that was easy. But its hard to get a nice even pressure on the cpu to insure a flat finish. Anybody have any suggestions or tips?

I know there's a sticky at the top (i've read it) but i figured this would net more responses.

Thanks in advance

This is the best tutorial that I've followed for a nice, clean, shiny finish.

Thanks for the link. But I think IHS lapping is an entirely different beast since you need to apply pressure yourself instead of letting the weight of a heatsink do the work.

Lapping the IHS was easy work I think with the 2 CPU's I've lapped. While you might not beable to get equal pressure easily unless you build something doing figure 8's should even it out as well as you rotating the CPU 90 degrees after so many runs.
