well speeds will always vary, but in my case no body who lives near me has adsl from bellsouth, and i live maybe 2miles maybe a little less from the place.

and i get above 2000/300

so you should get at least 1000, depending on your situation.

but if your in a situation like mine just a further distance you should get the advertised speeds.:)

thanks for the reply robb23 i appreciate it..would you do somthing for me though i am kind of curious as to how far away from the CO you are and getting those speeds! would you go to http://www.dslreports.com/prequal and run the test and tell me how far away from the CO it says you are? thanks again!

wow, im farther then i thought, 13640 feet, thats the exact number i got.

and the advertised specs are 1500/256

and bandwidth place has a new version of testing and its results were closer then there previous version and dslreports.

http://bandwidthplace.com/speedtest/index.html

i got 1.9mbps and thats a little low but its way closer then what dslreports gave me.

less then 1.4mbps most of the time:rolleyes:

which isnt even close.:)

Edit, and thats with a prog open that dls stuff.
and i just did the test agian and got 2mbps:)
so im likin there new test version:D
