I just restarted and tried to start FAH and wouldn't you know 19 minutes ago it expired at midnight...time to go grab the new client.
Wow, there is no new client out yet...FAH forums say to just set your date back start FAH then fix your date/time.

Yeah, I just ran into the same problem. This settin' your clock back stuff sounds like we're trying to get past a trial software. (I just heard about that, never would I do it myself  ) When do you think a new client's gonna' come out? I guess settin' the clock back on three machines wouldn't be so bad, but would the people with "borged" machines have to set their clocks back or are all borgs winders?

Yeah, I think it only screws you up when you start and stop the F@H client, I don't know for sure. Maybe you just made it "under the wire"? JUST DON'T SHUT ANY WU's OFF (better to be safe than sorry)
The client only checks the data on startup.
BE CAREFUL changing the date to make it run. If you download a new WU, and then the clock gets set forward a day or two back to real time, the WU might think the deadline has passed and delete itself to download a fresh one. Change the clock back to real time right away.
Stanford will put up a new client as soon as possible.
EDIT: Quick Service... http://forum.folding-community.org/fpost161410.html#161410

Thanx 7im, would it hurt, other than your feelings, if you just left the clock (in the OS) set back to the date you restarted with? in other words, I had to set my Ubuntu 64 clock back a day to get it to activate, would just leaving it at that date be OK? (my date stamps are unimportant to me) Will this screw up the deadline deal? Cause my WU's to be corrupted? Mess up anything in the system? I think F@H is fantastic and I'm trying to get this folding thing right :attn: Please I need some help here.

Just download the new version mentioned at the end of the thread 7im linked to. Change it to an excecutable (chmod +x fah-linux*) and then use it as you would the old one. You don't need to change anything else. So instead of starting fah5, you just start fah-linux...

Hey thanx dropadrop, I'm on my way to DL the new client now. You're a lifesaver. :D

No problems. Also keep your eyes open for a new version, I think this one is just a quick fix (not the final new client).
