When I shutdown windows (shutdown is checked :) ) windows closes and my computer reboots.
I've had this problem for quite some time now (since I installed Windows XP)
My computer shutdown fine in Windows ME and Windows 2000.
This really blows since I can't have programs shut it down automatically anymore (DVDx, Flashget, etc.) I have to wait for it to get to the bios screen and hold the pwr button in until it turns off.
Anyone have any ideas?

Welcome to the forums "Menardsguy":

If you have the Roxio "Easy CD Creator" or "Direct CD" program installed on your computer, you'll need to contact Roxio or view the following Roxio Web site to download and install the updated driver for "Easy CD Creator 5.0 for Windows XP"...

For Easy CD Creator Platinum Click here (http://www.roxio.com/en/support/ecdc/xpup.jhtml) for updater download and instructions.

For Easy CD Creator Basic Click here (http://www.roxio.com/en/support/ecdc/ecdc_basic_xp_updt.html) for updater download and instructions.

There is a known problem with v. 5.0x of their software that causes a "reboots instead of shuts down" problem when used with WinXP. The above updates were created to solve this problem and make the software compatible with XP.

Hmm had that problem once but that was on NT4. All I can say is make sure APM is enabled. It's in the power section under screens savers. If I see anything I'll post it, I'm running XP now and I had to enable APM. I accually dont think it is apm but it wont hurt to check.
