i reinstalled win2000 on my ibm t22 #2647 laptop recently. i went to ibm's/lenovo's site and got all the updates i could find. i think maybe they even had a tool that did it all auto. anyway, to my knowledge all the appropiate software is installed.

ok, so anyways, first problem: my battery doesnt seem to take a charge now. also the battery maximiser software cant detect what my battery is! i get like 5-10 minutes if im lucky with this thing unplugged from its ac adapter.

second problem: my cpu is stuck at 697mhz. this is a 900mhz p3 processor. ive fooled with the some of the bios powerstep settings or whatever intel calls it, to no avail. im kinda at a loss here. lappy has newest bios by the way.

so for now its just the cpu and battery i guess. i havent even tried the dual monitor/tv-out yet. i could never get it to work either before. i know some of you guys on here have lotsa exp. with these ibm's so lets hear it! what am i doing wrong? what do i need?

First problem:
Is there a calibrate battery in the BIOS?

Second problem:
Is there any type of speed stepping? Try putting a full load on the proc and see if the speed rises...not sure if P3's had that kind of technology...

How was the charge on the battery prior to reinstall and is it original? As for the CPU, Im not too sure on what that can be however I dont think a reinstall will help.
