Liking my 7500

Well I got my 7500 working nice. I have installed ramsinks on it with ASII. The Crystal Orb cometh tommorrow, can not wait to install it, much better gpu cooling than the blue orb and there is no lapping needed cause they are very flat.

We will be breaking 5000 real soon with the Crystal Orb. I hoping to achieve 330/530 outa this card. Game play is sweet!!

Mine is still impressing me too, games run great and currently smooth with my lapped blob w/chrome orb fan (watch your fingers its fast sharp and protruding):p and tiny ramsinks 330/270(540). I'm going to run it here a while and give it a little burn in time. Latest score 4448 (http://gamershq.madonion.com/compare2k1.shtml?2128617) with my lame old kt133/686a board, no multi and an FSB of 104 is the max.:rolleyes: Getting an older AV7 soon (no Raid or Audio) to add a little FSB OC.

The A7V isn't gonna help you much on the FSB, unless it's the A7V 133. Be sure that it is the 133 version, or you might get very disappointed.

yep make sure the AV7 133 board. Also what driver are you using? I have had good luck with the omega1086 that is a tweaked version of ATI's 3286.

Cause I just formatted my drive and reinstalled XP clean I do not even have the current up to date 4in1 drivers, gonna download em and see if they help out!!

Yup AV7 133, just found one w/Raid w/o Audio for 65$ (refurbished/OEM) from newegg, so Ive got an extra fastrack66 now :(. I'll live or still use it as now Im undecided (anyone want one cheap?). ;)

As for drivers Im a little nutty, I installed the latest 8500 (7206)only drivers by unpacking them and directing windows to look for them where I said. Then I went back and installed the latest beta 7500 drivers (7199) and everytime windows said a file is newer do you want to replace it I said no. So in a sence Im using the latest Omegas but did it my way. :burn:

Come Friday I hope to have some higher scores w/a higher FSB!

Looks good but that appears to be a Blue Orb not a Crystal Orb as they are nickel plated and shiny with a cover over the fan that can be removed. They also need no lapping as they come very flat.

They cool 7 deg cooler than Blue Orb as well. Here is a pic of my Crystal Orb and my Blue Orb that was on my 64 DDR vivo. Crystal Orb goes on later today with some ASII.

Ohh yea mines blue, lapsanded flat and Ive got a Chrome Orb fan in it now, :p ......watch your fingers around it. :eek: Plus the 80cm fan pointed up at the card has a 60cm intake behind it, I cant keep a zippo lit near it with the case open.

BTW Make sure to offset from center if you need to to get the card all the way in the slot.

Not that I forgot and had to pry it off or anything. :rolleyes:

Mykex cool you have the crystal Orb fan in da blue orb , ahhh good one. Quick question I compared my score to yours , with my card overclocked but only ramsinks on and noticed your z buffer depth at 24 bit vs 32 bit that mine is on. Will score increase by lowering z buffer depth??

hey, i beat you in a test:p and cam pretty damn close in others....only the fps are way lower, but the synthetic tests on mine are nice, guess it cause of the cpu.....i crush you in MegaSprites 9 compared to like .3 h well.....

its too bad my cpu sucks, because in all the synthetic benchies such as fill rate and things like that i am not that far behind.....that is one sweet oc...how about all thos people saying that ATIS dont OC well...or the 7500 is a crappy card for the money....laugh all the way to tha bank....

yup, but due to weird happenings im stuck with a BD133U that for some reason doesnt support a TualatinCeleron 1.2.....so my next upgrade will either be a PIII1GHZ or a Celeron1.0A (tualatin with 256cache) though the celly would be agamble....

Hey the silver against the cards components and the aluminum ramsinks look great:cool: . Dont be surprised if 270 isnt that hard to hit as long as you keep the GPU in the 340 range.

Yeah it looks cool, i hit 281 for memory but had window in room open and case open. I can run 270 no prob with case closed, but will be adding a card cooler

Yes the 7500 plays games very well. I play Madden 2k2 , CS UT Quake 3 , Max payne, Ghost Recon, plays em all fine, have not played em since I maxed the overclock , expect it to only be better. Got no games installed now as I just did a fresh format and reinstalled XP.

Heck my radeon 64 DDR vivoplayed all the games I mentioned above very well, it would also be a nice choice of vid card if you are looking and vivo is imp.
