How many of you are using wireless keyboards/mice etc..

i only recently switched out my tiny HTPC wired htpc keyboard and usb mouse for a wireless black microsoft combo, i enjoy the extra freedom but exactly what i suspected owuld happen is starting to happen.

i typically leave my htpc on for months upon months upon months without restarting, its a 24/7 machine basically, hence why i stuck with wired peripherals, they dont just randomly stop woring after set periods of time.

The new wireless kb,mouse, the mouse works fine, the keyboard but, after lets say a week of the pc being on randomly selects a bunch of keys and they stop working.

this week it was the enter/backspace/tab keys. This is seriously ticking me off, and yes i know its an MS product...

i have used the hardware reset options on keyboard/mouse/reciever, plugged reciever in and out, swapped batteries, but nothing works i always need to restart pc.

Has anyone experienced similar things, or know of any kind of solution to prevent the wireless keyboard doing this, cause i hate restarting the htpc...

I'm using the Media Center keyboard from M$.

It's pretty decent, but it works over IR signal and the keyboard doesn't come with IR reciever. So you will need to buy the meadia center remote (retail) in order to get one. Plus in only work in Media Center, cause you will need to go to M$ site and dl package to install it.

If you can get over that, it works like a charm and I like the little thumb used to controll the pointer.

bet i find out its some other device that causes it, like my mobile phone ringing to close to the reciever...
