gonna have a swiftech storm on it. no doubt Ill be lapping it.

should I remove the heat spreader?

if so, how?

i would lap it, the IHS is pretty dangerous to get off on da conroe.

I think the IHS is soldered on to the cores of the C2D, so I wouldn't attempt to take it off.

nuff said then. so just run it across some sand paper and call it a day. less risk always makes me happy, just asked incase removing it was the norm.
