i'm looking for a really good internal wireless card for my laptop that will work with linux and get a good signal. i like streaming movies off my network so i need a card that will keep up with it.

i had an atheros 5006 card in my asus laptop, great card never let me down, though i never tried it in linux. i believe you have to use the "madwifi" drivers for atheros cards and they are fairly mature if my memory serves me correctly

I have an Intel Pro Wireless 3945ABG in my laptop and it's great, I find the range is super, throughput is also excellent.

And intel has linux drivers available here:

The cards go for $25-35 on eBay
