View Full Version : problems setting up my prophet2 ULTRA, HELP PLZZZ

ok i bought this card recently and as soon as i put it in (as i had previously used the prophet 2 mx) the installed drivers found the card automatically and intalled it.my scores were around the 9500 mark in 3dmark2k .so then i decided to use the latest(21.83)and my scores dropped to around 4000?so i then uninstalled them and downloaded the old 7.62 i think they are(thats around the version they were packed with) and same sh**?so i play around with directx7 and then back to 8 and still SLOOOOWW. and you can see it visually in the helicoptor scenes 3dmark ,b4 you would see the fps meter always @99 but now its like 70 something in the 1st then it gets visually slow in the last one like its gonna stop. what can it be?
also overclocking it has no benefits to scores(it has to be a driver issue!
i just cant get it right and they are a powerfull card.
please help me out dudes!!!

forgot to add that this is in 98se
my winXp has been playing up so im back to 98 4 now

another while all of you are in bed over there! should i try the detonators or stick with the hercules drivers? thanks

I used the 6.35 drivers on my old card and they worked very well. They are also the ones from the Hercules website.

Its definitely a driver issue. Play around with some of the Hercules drivers.

ok ill try to find the old 6.35's and see if they will do the trick , and ill let you know,

NP....you might also try removing the old drivers completely, then placing the ones you want to use in a safe place.Then do a reboot and searching for new drivers by specifying the location.

well i tried everything ,one things for sure! the hercules drivers DONT work for me! all versions ive tried anyway including the latest all the way back to 6.35b.
so i D/L the latest NVIDIA 21.81 drv and all is good again!!!
dunno why though?
but thanks for your replies guys :) (another happy overclocker has 1 nights sleep in piece!)
