This is my first intel setup. It's replacing my wifes P3 laptop thats used for surfing the net and such. I've been thinking of building her a new computer for a while, and since I just re-enlisted I have some money to spend. I jsut want something thats easy to setup, as I'm upgrading my system too and only need one headache.
Basically its going to be used:
-Surfing the net
-Burning CDs
-And the usual other stuff but not really gaming
Here's what I've thrown together for starters.
Mobo:
ABIT IP-95 LGA 775 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16813127017)
CPU:
Intel Pentium 4 631 Cedar Mill 3.0GHz (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16819116004)
Video card:
PNY 7600GS 256mb (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16814133192)
Ram:
1gb Mushkin DDR2 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16820146049)
Case:
Athenatech (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16811190061)
CD/DVD:
Lite On (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16827106055)
HDD:
WD 160GB Sata 16mb (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822136062)
Expansion slot:
Expansion slot card reader/usb (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811998814)
Wanted to keep the total build under $500 but ah well.
