Hi All,
I am looking at this, but I am worndering about ramifications on the Southbridge. Th SB is connected to the NB heat pipe and heatsink. Can it survive with a stand alone heatsink with passive?

Thanks for your input.

Cheers

If it was me, I would put a simple active cooled heatsink on it. Like an Evercool VC-RE or similar. Shouldn't need anything too special.

don't even bother with active, a passive sink should be fine.

680i's NB runs hot with an overclock.. its not like an AMD NB. I would consider a HR-05 with 70mm fan or a very non-restrictive block.

I think all of the nvidia NB chipsets run hot, then run hotter when you start to oc a little.
