Hey everyone I am interested in the EVGA 680i mobo but I am curious if the http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=18703&vpn=ULTRA-120&manufacture=THERMALRIGHT
will fit on this mobo and if not what mods have to be done to it to get it to fit. I am interested in OC'ng this baby as far as I can go on air and everything I have read about that heatsink is that it is amazing, and the fact that you can add a 120mm fan to it is even better (I plan to add the fan) just hope my 600w OCZ GameXtream PSU can run everything
Basically mobo, in an antec 900 with a 250gb sata drive and a dvd burner with a total of 6 case fans (that is including the 3 stock ones on the case) and an evga 8800GTX, as well as a pair of http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=20991&vpn=TXDD2048M800HC4DC&manufacture=Team Group Inc.
to go with it. Let me know what you think about the heatsink and anything else you might want to point out about the build

There is a small SMD resistor on the back that is in the way of a normal backplate install.

Here's a thread where a user found a good way to fix the problem (The same way I'd do it too):
http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=497463&highlight=680i+smd

But if you can't mod it like that or cannot get plastic washers to space it away from the motherboard, then NO, it will not work on that board.

BTW: that thread I linked is showing a Tuniq Tower 120 installed on that 680i board...but the backplate issues are the same as they are with the Thermalright.

But don't skimp and get a different cooler...just mod :)

thanks

thanks for the help and the links, I like how the one link says it will fit on the asus striker no problem, that was the original mobo I was going to go for but because of its price I switched to the EVGA one.
