WINTEC AMPX 2GB ($214.99+$4.99+$tax)

Analysis
Model = 3AXT6400C5-2048K

Looking at the ending "C5" it looks like Corsair's PC8500 line which are nearly all D9GMH (one is D9GKX but that's C5D)
http://ramlist.ath.cx/ddr2/

Tech Spec:
Speed = DDR2-800 (PC2 6400)
Cas Latency = 5
Voltage = 1.9V

Comparing voltage and timing,
Corsair PC8500 is listed as 2.2V at timings 5-5-5-15.
Wintec PC6400 is listed as 1.9V at timings 5-x-x-x.

Conclusion

These Wintec might be Micron D9GMH IC.
However,
I seached everywhere online for reviews but found none.
Thoughts? Anyone have any experience with Wintec?
Might be a gem undiscovered?

Doesn't D9GMH run PC6400 speed at 4-4-4-12 2.1-2.2v?

The Corsair is running CAS5 at DDR1000, this ram is running CAS5 at only DDR800.

Very doubtful. The C5 only means CAS5, no relation to Corsair. CAS 5 at 400MHz is very low speed. There are plenty of modules at that price with Elpida/Promos speced at 400 4-4-4 in that price range, which clock almost as well as D9GMH.

To JLK03F150,
True. But the voltage for the Wintec is 1.9V as opposed to the 4-4-4-12 2.1-2.2V.

To Gautam,
I see. C5 means CAS5...
But isn't the other D9 ratings are compared to CAS5 settings?
For example,
78nm:
D9GKX = 400Mhz @ CAS5
D9GMH = 333Mhz @ CAS5
D9GCT = 266Mhz @ CAS5

Yeah, but that doesn't strengthen your case at all...there's really no evidence that its Micron anything whatsoever.

400MHz CAS 5 is too loose of a spec for most manufacturers to use D9GMH in...which are among the most expensive DDR2 IC's out there.

It's very doubtful that these chips are D9GMH. All the DDR2-800 series I've seen that are D9GMH always have timings of 4-4-4-12 or better. Some of the companies that used to run D9 have now mostly switched over to the Promos stuff with 5-5-5-12.

how about these? are these D9GMH?

They are crucial, and they are ballistix only the lowest binned and price aint cheap but aint as high as other models. Even a review states they are GMH, but we all know newegg reviews are like believing a64 is crappier than axp

Weird enough, when you compare the number to the ones in this ramlist:
http://ramlist.ath.cx/ddr2/

it looks very similar to the 10th aniversary version...:confused: :confused: :confused: WTF??

somebody please reply, this fits in the topic and im after them!!

These Wintek Amp-X are 4-4-4-10 at 1.9v,

$210 and a -$20 promo code (EMC206WINTEC2GB)
This has me wondering if it is D9GMH?

I may buy them, if they respond well to voltage they probably are Micron.

"The specification rated by manufacture is 1.9V for 800MHz, but I am running them with 1.8V 4-4-4-10 at 820MHz for 3 months without any issues. I ran 99 cycles of 3DMark 06, Memtest 86, and 24 hour SiSandra memory burn-in test without a hitch. I also ran the same tests at 920MHz CL5 @ 2.0V, and 1021MHz CL5 @2.2V without any issues." - newegg's 3rd review down.

His results looks like D9...

They are not D9GHM but are D9DQT. Still very good stuff, just not as good. ;)

More like Promos, but at this point, who even cares?

I forsee the D9 craze subsidizing significantly very shortly. Micron is no longer the only kid on the block to pull off DDR2-1000 these days. Promos can do it just about as easily, and even with the same timings, and often less voltage. Even Elpida has been known to break the 1 GHz barrier, however it needs to be looser.

Micron-based memory itself is becoming cheaper...getting stuff to do 1000MHz is actually becoming quite easy to do on the cheap these days, lots of options out there.

Although the pic makes it look the Crucial's are D9DQT, I'd bet plenty against it. Those IC's haven't been seen in the wild for a solid year now, if not longer. As I've said earlier, those are GMH with extremely high certainty.

Edit- the egg's pics are just screwy, they aren't even of Ballistix. They did the same to the 8000 and 6400. Must be a mistake. These are and have been GMH for months on end now.
