How hot can the 1.4 Ghz Althon be before it "frys?" What are safe temps and what temps are just too hot? Right now I am getting 22C case temp (I think) and 26C CPU temp, but my processor is running slower then it should be, so I am getting a new mobo and want to know what is safe and what is not. BTW, those were temps when just booting up.
Thanks!

Amd recon that the chip can go upto something about 90c. Try and keep your temps below 50c if possible.
Whats up with the motherboard?
*edit*
looks like you have a 1.4 ddr chip running at 100 fsb not 133, what board are you using?

Too hot is when you see smoke........
As long as it's under 50C you should be OK.......

I am using MSI MS-6340. I just ordered the Shuttle AK31 REV3.1 VIA KT266A DDR MOTHERBOARD and 512MB DDR Ram, so hopefully it will solve my problem and allow me to overclock too (something my current motherboard wont)
Some chips are different. I can run mine at 55c all day. If the chip reaches 56c or higher my system becomes unstable!
