Just go into your bios and set the first boot device to your cd rom drive. If you want to do a clean install then you might want to format first but that will erase everything on the harddrive so back up all the Data you need.

CD is the first drive on Bios:(

Why don't you want to use Fdisk? Do you want a fresh install? or are you trying to duall boot?

i dont think u can fresh install from within 98, u need to actually boot to the cd, go to set up choice and delete and reformat any partitions u find, if u dont u will get an install with all your 98 folders still present but crossed throughout the regestry, most wont work and reinstalls will go bad because the programs will be confused by the remnents. you can also use f disk but u really need a format prior to getting a fresh install.

Fresh install meaning no windows folder active in the hard drives.

That will require you to format( lose all data on the hard drives.)

I would recommend you use the 4 Windows Bootdisks and then boot and delete all partitions, obviously making sure everything is backed up and then fdisking everything and just CREATING partitions with them and then hit Enter to setup Win2K on which ever partition you hit on.

You should be using NTFS file system with Win2K as it is NT Kernal.

And format your other drives in Windows using NTFS partition and then you go from there.

Good Luck.

im not sure, could be couple things, have u enable boot other device in your bios? if your bios has this option. have u tried using w2k boot disks, cause u may not have a bootable cd?

I think I have it. It didn't give me option to fdisk, but did delete partition and set NTFS and re-formated then started win2k:beer:
