Corsair TwinX XMS3200 C2PT CL2 v3.1

I am going to buy this ram off of someone, but was hoping one of you guys knew how this particular version of corsair runs, and what chip it has...

Im a little worried bc a friend of mine told me to stick away from v3.1...

I used the sticky at the top of this page and found the following:

CMX512-3200C2PT XMS3202 V3.1 0428009-0 = Promos -5 Rev A

If those are the sticks you are referring to then they appear to have Promos ic's. I can not tell you how well they run however as I have not had any experience with them.
