Dang powersupply.

What the heck can I do with all those extra PSU wires and connectors. There are like a billion of em. Why do they have that many, there is noe way you could use all those unless you have like 500 cd rom drives.

Well anyway can I like open the PSU up and pull em out? Or cut em off? They are to bulky and get in the way of everything!

I roll them up and zip tie them then shove them into one of the empty 5.25" drive bays (assuming you have one free).

That is funny, mine does not have enough connections so I had to add some.

I do not use the second motherboard connector and I did what Jon said. I put a zip tie on it and shuved it in the little space between the PSU and the top of my case.

I use Jon's method and zip tie them and stick them in a bay.

A slightly different question:

Is it possible to reduce the number of cables to the ATX connector? Some are delivering the same voltage, so could you just remove them?

After looking at 7volts.com I found 9 different voltages, the rest (11) are just "more of the same". So, could you cut of 11 wires for a smaller wirebundle? Or would the cables not tolearete the amps drawn? How about using better cables?

Just some thoughts..

I hate the pesky P4-special power lead. It's long, yellow and a real pain in the rear.

RE reducing wires to MOBO, they might be needed to allow enough current in parallel. Maybe the wires are too thin to fuel the whole board.

its interesting how technology develops so much for computers but we still need to use all that cables and wires. not only psu's but all them. of course there r some wireless mouses and keyboards; they r still expensive.
take a quick look at the back of your desk, thats unbeleivable. thats also one of the pc weakness mac use to make the most of.

Both that stupid ATX12V and those other 2 connectors - for some kinda big server board I think....they all suck. I used the ATX12V to run my TEC and Delta by snipping off the connector.

Me too, I have 2 psu's and I had to add 3 more in mine because I ran out.
I don't think they put enough power connection on a psu...

The enermax 550w has loads of drive power cables...8 I think total. I don't even use all of 'em. My old 300w antec that came in the case didn't have enough though.
