I am trying to get into my router settings to change some things and I cant remember what the password is it for it. I've tried the default admin/admin for username and password and all the passwords that I could think of and nothing will work. I tried to reinstall everything using the CD but when I do that it will still ask for the password. I was wondering if anyone knows how I can reset the password on the router. Thanks.
isn't there a reset button on the router?

The default isn't admin/admin. It is no username with the password admin. Also like mentioned above, push the reset button on the back of the router if what I mentioned doesnt work.

I realize that you got it working and all. I just want to add this for whom ever may do a search on this topic. When you press the reset button, you must hold it for 10 seconds.
I also have a BEFSR41, but could not figure out how to change the password from "admin". If someone could give me step-by-step instructions, it would be much appreciated.

Hi folks,
When you reset the BEFSR41 back to it's default settings, the default user name is 1234 and the password is, Admin. You must initially do both. After you get back in, immediately change the password back to what you had it before or make a new one. Hope this helps.

When this particular etherfast cable/DSL router is reset to factory defaults, it will not allow you access if only the "Admin" password is used. You must also input the "User name" which is "1234" and then the "Admin" password. Once you gain access, you can change the password setting and from there on, you only have to input the password to gain access. The user name is no longer required unless you reset the router back to factory defaults.

Harvey,
Were you able to figure out what the problem was?
