Laptop Processor Upgrade

First off my friend has a laptop that has a celeron 600 in it. I was wondering if the mobile celeron's and p3's have the same socket type. Right now you can get a p3 750 mobile for $125+shipping. To move from Celeron 600 to a p3 750 would be a big improvement. Has anyone done this before? And is it possible?

Better check the manufacturer's site for an upgrade path. The motherboard may not even accept anything that runs over a 66MHz bus.

Also, there are several syles of processor packaging, some might be upgradable and some definitely are not. The processor packaging on my Inspiron 8000 isn't upgradable; it's a micro BGA that's soldered in place.:(
