My mobo died on me so i have to get a new motherboard, problem is that my current mobo ( 865gbf ) was agp and now all the new one's are coming with pci-e, so i have to say good bye to my lovely 6800gt
i don't game that often now and mostly use the computer for browsing and occassional gaming ( cs:s, command & conquer etc )
my main emphasis is that i should be able to hook up my computer to my 34" hdtv using hdtv out, right now it is attached via vga cable and i am restricted to measly 1024x768 resolution
i don't want to spend THAT much on a card because i believe direct x 10 cards are just around the corner ( i am talking about budget cards )
so what do you people advice?
1. go for 965RY which has built in vga
2. or go for 965ry with any of the following
7900 gs 256 mb $230
7600 gt 256 mb $175
7600 gs 256 mb $120
7300 gt 256 mb $96
7300 gs 512 mb $80
all the above cards are of XFX and the prices mentioned are local prices available to me they might seem expensive to you people, my dilema is i think if am paying $80 why not spend $15 more to get this card, hey why not spend $25 more for even better and so on and so forth
honestly speaking i started looking at 7900 gs and 7600 gt initially and than you know how this thing called "thinking" kicks in and force your mind to go in a endless loop
and than you decide to post a long frustrating post on a forum you love so others can be bothered reading all the crap you have to say and advice you while you are going totally insane
gosh finally got it all out waiting for some input hehe !! :)
7600 gs and 7600 gt are available here at difference of around $50
