Well im looking at a laptop right now that has a T2060 and its labeled a pentium dual core 1.66 or 65 i think but its a t2060 and i dont know what that is. I cant find it on intels site or anywhere online. Is it a centrino, and original core duo? what might this thing be.

run cpuz: http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php

you can put it on a thumb drive. ;)

lol i didnt even think of that lol. Thanks. When i go back to the store ill do that. I have a feeling its like a pentium D or somethign which i dont want in a laptop. I was hoping someone would know about this. I wish Intel had it on their website.

It is a value processor. It is like T2050 but with less cache.

I believe its a core duo chip, code name yohan.

I wanna say it runs at 1.6ghz and has a 533mhz fsb.

seems these are very new chips. a couple things for sure, its 1.6ghz, and its not a p4/p-d. its still part of the centrino package, which totally rules those out. i did some googling, and apparently it has 1mb of cache. i don't know if it is single or dual core, and cpuz might not even recognize it properly. i would still try tho.

it appears as though gateway is selling about 5 different laptops (through retailers) that have these T2060 chips in um. the verbage is:

• Intel® Pentium® Dual-Core Mobile Processor T2060¹

where as for their core duo models they call them:

Intel® Core™ Duo Processor T2250 with Intel® Centrino® Duo Mobile Technology¹

interesting

depending on the price i would buy it. since down the road you can pop in a "meron" cpu.

Here's my T2050 CPUZ shots:

It runs anywhere between 800mhz and 1.6ghz, depending on system load.

I would imagine the T2060 is similar.

These are basically special OEM only chips. If you don't need gobs of computing power but still want the good stuff (like dual core and speedstep) that you miss out on by going with a Celeron class chip then these are great options.

Use less power then their faster brothers too.

Basically it's a Core (1) Duo with a 133FSB (ie: 533).

T2060 is like T2050. Same mulity anf fsb. Though less cache 1mb vs 2mb. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_Core_microprocessors
