View Full Version : X1900XT-256 Beeping when OC'd.
A big WTF in this thread...
My X1900XT 256mb makes a beeping noise profusely when I have it overclocked.
It's at 700/900 with a little bump for voltage and the temps are surprisingly low, only 68c under load. With a VF900.
It's annoying because the noise is like 11kHz. :-/
And I MUST also say:
OMG This thing has good RAM on it! It produces little heat and it has much better timings then the 512mb models. Low density RAM FTW.

I believe thats a low voltage warning, same on G80.
what power supply are you running on it?
My Blingy, Modular, Enermax Liberty 620w Mk.2. (the Mk2 has better caps(or regulators?))
My PSU seems to be running perfectly, 11.99v, 11.98v under load. ;)
And damn is the beeping annoying... I'm running at stock until it STFU's.
I tried giving the GPU and V-RAM some more volts, and that did nothing... just produce a lot more heat.
And no, it's not my computer speaker. I unplugged it thinking it was the source of the noise at first, and it's right in front of me still unplugged.

what are you using to overclock it?
i prefer to install the cats with the old school control panel, enable overdrive, and use ati tray tools to raise my overdrive settings...seems to have been the most stable for me
Wait, was this Always happening? Or since you OC'ed, or just recent?

What are the other rails doing? ;)
If it only happens when overclocking I think that pretty much answers the question.
hold on a sec... is it a continous beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeep
or more like a beep..............................beep............ ........
cause sometimes I get a loud continous one durring gameplay.... and then my computer shuts down. Its very loud; I have no idea.
