Hello,
Can anyone provide information that shows me how to id relevant celeron cpu's,especially in regard to stepping. Is it printed on the cpu or is there a code i should look out for.I need this info for celerons from 800 - 1000

WCPUID will show you the CPU #ID.
Sisoft Sandra will show you the stepping.
800-850 chips are cC0 or cD0.
900-1gig are cD0 guaranteed.

In your registry in win98/SE if you put a space between "genuine intel" it will show the family, model# and the stepping revision.
Also you could use a program like "Xteq X-setup" to make registry changes, and even add your own "oem logo"I will attach a jpeg to show what I'm talking about.

Intel also puts out a program to identify it's procsessors.
You can get it here. (http://support.intel.com/support/processors/tools/frequencyid/download.htm)

Although Sandra and WPCPUID are notorious :) and can be used other than juss finding the ID#...
