68C full load with thermaltake typoon VX fan on full speed!.. I wasn't expecting it to run this hot. I don't know how long this CPU will last these temps.. How accurate is Asus Probe II anyway. i'm running it on a Asus P5B Deluxe.
Sounds about right to me. I'm guessing your voltages are up there too. I ran a Cedar Mill at 5 GHz+ on air about a year ago, and had idle temperatures in the high 50's. Never really put a real load on it, but I'm sure it would gotten close to 70.

Yeah I'm at 1.525v in bios and it's only 1.45v at full load... I thought my cooler was one of the best.. I was hoping 65C at 5.2GHz.
1M Pi is 27s! @5GHz.

Is it trottling?
There is better air cooling now but nothing extreamly better.
You might want to try a high end fan for it like so.. http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/pa12ulhisp.html
You can always use it on a different 120mm fan air cooler later if you deside to upgrade.

Regardless of what Intel says, CPU's dont throttle @ 65C(At least the ones ive had dont) It usually starts happening to me @....86C or so, on that p4 of course, I wont let me D get that hot ever.

btw.. if you really are a Ghz Addict.. the Celeron D was the right CPU for you ;)
Good work :D

Thanks for all the support guys.. 5044MHz 100% stable. I was hoping for 5.2GHz. I think I got a not so good Celeron D. I'm feeding this sucker 1.562v in bios and around 1.49v is windows. I was hoping like 1.4v at 5GHz.. I might pick up another one. I gotta say, this thing is fast, despite the Celeron name it's Pentium 4 class performance.
Pi 32M in 22min! Not bad.
I wanna point out that when I say 100% stable I mean it. I can hit 5198GHz, but it's doesn't pass my personal standards of 100% stable.
You know, if you wanted to brag about your OC, you could have just made it obvious from the getgo. ;) Nothing wrong with that. :p
Its cream of the crop as far as clocks go, honestly I've never heard of anything else getting that close. It was a golden 661ES I played with, and even that was a couple hundred MHz worse than yours all things considered...even making it to 5 stable is unprecedented. I don't know if 5.2GHz is at all realistic TBH.

nah, no braging.. I saw a few reviews with the C1 stepping hitting over 5GHz.. so I figured the new D0 stepping would hit much higher. Mainly due to the low 65W thermal rating same as C2D. The older C1 was 89W. Thanks for saying it's cream of the crop.. makes me feel better.

Your sig made me spend extra money on a better power supply.. I don't know if I should love you or hate you.. :p
There's a very big difference between making it into Windows and completing a benchmark or two and actual stability. The C1's might have been able to do the former, but certainly not the latter.

Nicely put. You're like the Dr. Phil of overclockers.com :)

ROFL.. Gautam is Dr. Phil and I have the love/hate for reminding you not to fry your rig with a cheap PSU :p :p
Thats funny :D
You are using the stock fan on the BT right? Try out a high performance fan like the one I linked ;)

I don't think I can take the extra noise.. I used to to be the guy that bought those sonic boom's like the Delta EE's and stuff.. not anymore.. If it dies, it dies..

I didn't link a Delta.. The noise that Panaflow's do make isn't the same, there suppose to be more tolleratable.
Throttling beings at 72c on the PD's. Just clearing that up :)

GigaHertz, i was hoping to join you with a celly D @ 5Ghz, but no luck.
Best i could get out of it was 4.8 & posting at 5. :( Time to pay off bet.
Again, congrats on your oc.
P.S. Pad volt mod doesn't seem to work the same on 65nm, as they do on 90nm.

What model do you have? What Voltage are you using @ 4.8GHz? And what cooling? And temps..
