Does the second 1gb kit need to be the same timings (Current Ram Kit: 2.5-3-3-7, OCZ Premium), or would that just be ideal?

it would be ideal. The ram will be set at the loosest rams timmings i would think.

If it is not the same timings it may not be able to run at any speed other then 200 mhz.

When you say kit do you mean 2x512 or a 1 gig stick? This mobo may have issues running all four slots.
