nividia duel gigbit lans x2 came with asus crosshair motherboard
linksys router wag54gs model
only 1 pc connected to router atm
if i use the same mac address as the nic card on the second nic. Will that be a virtual lan then????
thanks
I don't understand what you're asking. Are you using VMWare or Microsoft's Virtual Server? In either case, you only need one network adapter, period...that's the point of virtualization. Having two gives you options to do other things, but you still only need the one.

You DO NOT want to use the same MAC for each NIC this will confuse the hell out of the switch. When VMWare runs it creates a virtual MAC address for the NIC. Thus the switch in the rooter will see two computers (attached to a hub thats not there ;) ).

What jon said and yes.
I assume you wish to study other software (linux/2k3) and how computers on a network interact. When I use VMWare I share a network port.
