MP3 parallel port problem

I have an MP3 player and its uploads and downloads via the parallel port. on my newly built computer i'm getting the same error as i did on the old one (which was solved through these forum) unfortunaltely i forgot where to go and what to do. my ? is what do i need to change so that the port can communicate properly with the player and song uploader. thanks and please reply ASAP

what mode is your parallel port set to?
SPP?
if it is, try EPP
EPP/EPP may also work

the port will be bidirectional in these modes and will often fix problems

Make sure your software is set to run at the same port speed as your comport is set in device manager.

Go to the device manager in the control panel.
