I'm currently using the retail heatsink and fan that were included with my processor. If I ask for a new set for Christmas, what should I get? I'd probably like to get one of the top 5 sets on the market (unless of course they are just outrageously expensive). Any links?

Okay, so the Glaciator II is about the best to get then? What else do I need to know about swapping my stock set out for a new one, as far as using thermal grease goes, or anything else?
The glaciator II comes with arctic silver, you can get detailed instructions for using it at www.arcticsilver.com
Its a very good heatsink, there are slightly better but for noise, easy installation its the best choice in my opinon.
If you want the best then a swiftech 462a and a delta 68cfm fan.
But you will probably find the sound annoying and its a real pain to install and remove, expensive and won't fit on all motherboards.

Okay, if price is no consideration, what would you recommend for the best performance coupled with the easiest install? When installing the stock heatsink, it felt like I was going to drive my screwdriver right thru the motherboard when I was pushing down on the locking pin that holds the sink on the cpu.

Wow, when I do a search for "Glaciator" at pricewatch, I get nothing.
Use the link in my 1st post.
You can only buy them from the mfg.
