Centrino duo vs core 2 duo

I'm looking to replace my stolen laptop with a new one. What's the difference between a core 2 duo and a centrino duo?

Centrino branding means that there is an intel chip, with an intel chipset, with an intel wireless card. Thats all centrino means.

Ok, great. I knew that's the way it was with the single core centrinos of a couple years ago, but I wasn't sure it was still that way.

Yeah they just threw on the duo name for the new core 2 processors. Happy buying.
