On Battlefield 2 (lastest patch) there is this annoying grass problems that flickers on and off while zooming in and out with your sights or looking at a certain direction will flicker the grass from nice looking skinny grass to fat \ ugly looking grass. It gets very annoying. It's on and off when I first play for a good 5 min I notice it walking and looking over here in a battle or zooming in a area of a grass patch My specs is on my sig... running the game on hits high with 4x AA and this problem never did it on my old BFG 6600 GT... I suspect either bad drivers or overheating.. But not so sure since its highest temp on Rivatuner is around ~41-48 and idles only 33*C

I'd first start by reinstalling the drivers. Make sure to completely remove them from your system.
EDIT: You said only the latest patch does it? Could be a problem with the game itself, or it is having a problem with the drivers. Start with the drivers, try another game and if those fail, try re-installing the game (patched AND un-patched).
EDIT2: Could it be a setting in the game? Like rendering distance? Cause the grass close to you looks better...

This happens to me too. It didn't happen when I was using my old computer which had an x800 pro. I think its related to having the graphics, AA, and AF all the way up because thats when I first noticed it. I garuntee you its not overheating because my 8800gts never gets above 61 after hours of BF2...
..having said that, unfortunatly I still don't know what causes it. Let me know if you find out.

I tried the latest forceware, and yes its actually up to 4x AA in the nv panel I tried using ingame AA did not work...even with AA off both in game and panel.. the AF is set to 8x in the panel, changed it to app control no change as well...
It does not do this on bf2142 thats what gets me..(same exact graphic settings w/ 4x AA and 8x AF) On my very old setup with the BFG 6600GT that loads up to 65*C never did this and its graphics were all set to medium and 2x AA except shadows was off... I am going with the in game settings.. Could be the geometry.. I will try many methods.. hopefully EA will fix this problem if it is just the game

We're going to need a miracle for that to happen. If you figure it out let me know, I've kinda just came to accept the problem.

And a rare miracle at that...
