Provided the x1300 is the AGP version, both should work just fine. The 128 vs 64 bit thing refers to the memory interface bandwidth on the card only.

thanks for that they are both agp i thought i might have to send it back cheers

64 bit sounds way to narrow for a modern card, i recommend sending it back and buying something a little more expensive. A lot of low end cards are cut down without mercy. Manufactures will take drastic performance hits just to undercut competitors by 5usd. I don't think they ramped up the memory speed enough to overcome its narrow 64-bit bus.

i wish i could, but i bought it of the net no returns when its been opened unless faulty

is there any way i could improve it, here is the specs. 90-nanometer process gpu,ultra-threaded processing architecture,shader model 3.0 hdr,adaptive anti-aliasing,advanced memory controller,direct x9,

could it be overclocked?

Some x1300's are sold at 600mhz. I think your card runs at 450mhz (just a guess compaired to neweggs offerings), so there may be 150mhz of GPU headroom.

Try googling "ati tool." That program will allow you to change your GPU and memory clock speed. Increase the GPU speed in small increments, run a game, repeat if there are no crashes or artifacts. When you reach artifacts, drop down about 5mhz and do the same process with the memory.

Your GPU will OC well, but your achilles heel, memory, will not OC much.

artifacts are small (sometimes large) glitches in video rendering. They ussually indicate a flaky video card or too much overclocking.

With ATI Tool you can enable the 3D view and toggle "scan for artifacts" while you let it find the max core and then max memory. Set it about 10-15 mhz below what max setting it finds for each and you should be ok. You'll need to save those settings (click the New button and then name it), and then click on the Settings button and make sure that under the Startup menu you have it set to load that profile at startup [via start menu/all users] and you can have ATItool shut down directly afterwards, enabling your overclocking settings at boot.

shader model 3.0 hdr,adaptive anti-aliasing,advanced memory controller,direct x9,
As far as "improving" it, other than overclocking, the only thing I can tell you is to uninstall the CCC and just use ATI Tool (and ATI Tray Tools to edit directx/opengl settings) with the ATI display driver only, since the CCC is worthless. Disable anti-aliasing via ATI Tray Tools and set all opengl and directx settings to Performance with that utility.

You can also nuke any old drivers after uninstalling the Catalyst Control Center (should you decide to do this) with driver cleaner (http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Uninstallers/Driver-Cleaner-Professional.shtml) before reinstalling the display driver.

:sn:: Edit man, edit.

iv just checked what the card specs are, engine clock 600MHz memory speed 400 MHz x2, core speed 450MHz my card is x1300 pro, and iv just installed the ati tool should i take of the ccc before i run ati?

i have scanned for artifacts after 10 mins it never found any in the core box 607.50 and the memory 396.00 should i increase it a bit and rescan?

10 mins isnt really long enough to be for certain of that.. Id keep scanning it at that level.. and see what happens.. for maybe say, half an hour.

iv had a bit play with the ati tool, iv took the core up to 621.00,and the memory up to 423.00 then tried my g3flight sim it works like a treat, nice and smooth my old card 9550 was jerky.at first i took the core up to 634.00 but when i ran the memory, it kept dropping until i lost my picture i had to reboot then tried as smaller setting. i think il leave it alone now as its fine for the sim which was all i needed it for. cheers for the help i would never have been able to sort it out without the ati tool
