Missing ram?

i just built my new system, but am having a wierd issue i have never experienced before. i installed 4 gigs of ram in 4x1gb sticks, and the bios recognizes and sees all 4 sticks, but windows only sees 3 of them.

any ideas/fixes?

I'm like 95% sure that Windows XP 32 bit does not support 4GB of ram. 64 bit does however.

There are many threads about this issue, do a search.

Edit: It all comes down to, you will be limited by the 32bit OS.
