I have been trying to get my internet working on the other computer. I have a U.S. Robotics router and i just want to do a wired connection and it wont work. I know the cable is good(hook up a laptop) and internet is fine. I put in the wire and see if it works but i get no connection and it says acquiring ip address. I dont know WTF is wrong.

Which connection do you have going to the WAN? What do you have going to the LAN? Power off both computers. Power off Router. Turn on Router. Power on first computer. Power on 2nd computer. If that doesn't work, reinstall your network stuff on the one that wont do anything.

first off make sure your ethernet has all the correct drivers installed. Secondly log on to the router and make sure you have everything enabled (not just wan) and you could try taking the hardware address of your computer and putting that in the static ip address so that it doesnt need to be assigned one, it would already have one.

What is a static ip address?

First of all trythe same wire between PC and router and laptop and router
Check laptops ip address
Click windows button on keyboard or click start menu on desktop. In run box type CMD
at command prompt type ipconfig /all and note the IP gateway and DNS addresses
Now hookup desktop
Right click your network device. Selcect properties... highlight TCP/IP select properties again
If its 10.x.x.x or 192.x.x.x you are good to go (if it matched what was on the laptop IPCONFIG screen)... you can try assigning a static IP to determine connectivity. (This is always first on my list of trouble shooting network problems) If you can connect this way, that narrows down you problem to DHCP error on PC.. or firewall issue.
To Assign your self a static IP in range of the router
Fer instance if its 192.168.1.1
Give your self 192.168.1.2 with gateway of 192.168.1.1 subnet of 255.255.255.0 and DNS lookup of 192.168.1.1
I have yet to see a router that starts the IP pol at less then 192.168.1.10 so this should work

Tried it.. no luck.
When i try to repair the connection is says DNS sever not found.
What does that mean and how do i fix it?

It means that your router doesn't support DNS proxy, try using 4.2.2.2 as your dns server instead.
do you have the computer set to automaticaly gain an IP address or set up staticaly?
Go into the router and check what the routers DNS is, and the subnet mask.
Usualy 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 router address by default
and 255.255.255.0 subnet mask.
Double check what these are. Then set your computers TCIP accordingly.
For example if the routers IP is 192.168.1.1 and subnet is 255.255.255.0 something as follows.
IPaddress - 192.168.1.101 (notice the first three sections are the same as the routers and the last number is unique to you computer)
Subnetmask - 255.255.255.0
Gateway - 192.168.1.1 (the same as your routers IP)
DNS server 1 - 192.168.1.1 (usualy the same as the routers IP unless otherwise specified.)
DNS server 2 - leave blank
Then it should work.
once you get familliar with networking you can set the whole thing up as static and have you own customised IPs and DNS IPs.
It keeps your random friends from trying to get into the network when they bring their laptops over. Most people use Dynamic DNS to gather an
Ip automaticaly. If your network wont allow that people cant get on unless they know the DNS server address and subnet masks,.. just makes it a bit
more secure. My friends hate my network, I love it lol
You could also enable dynamic DNS and have the computer automaticly get an IP address.
